Brazil Quest 2012

São Paulo & Rio de Janiero

Sunday 04 to Friday 09 November 2012

Brazil’s economy is one of the ten largest in the world with a growth rate of over 6%. As the regional hub for Latin America, Brazil is one of the world’s main agricultural and mining commodity producers. The country has a significant future role in oil, gas and energy production. The Quest will take us to the financial hub of São Paulo and to Rio de Janeiro the former capital which exhibits many of the tensions of Brazil. Our Quest will look deep into the different Brazils contained within this vast country.

  • Brazil’s role in regional and global trade and politics
  • The major areas of growth and investment, from biofuels to services
  • An insight into some of the most painful social issues, from street children to chronic hunger, violence, drugs and human rights abuses
  • The nature of Brazilian entrepreneurship and leadership
  • The impact of growth on the environment and the war over resources
  • The impact of inequality – colour, race, wealth: the contrasting Brazils
