Amy Barnes, Head of Climate & Sustainability Strategy, Marsh McLenna
Amy leads the global Sustainability & Climate Change strategy at Marsh McLennan, a leading professional services firm providing risk management, insurance, and consulting worldwide. Amy has a respected depth and breadth of experience assisting some of the largest and most complex companies manage risks.
Amy started her career as an environmental consultant, largely providing advice and guidance to regulatory bodies. She joined Marsh as an environmental insurance broker and from there spent time on secondment with a major PLC client, gaining an understanding of risk and insurance issues from a client perspective. Amy has 20 years of relevant industry experience with Marsh.
In her current role Amy has created a multi-award winning ESG risk rating tool and leads our advisory to clients on climate risk and ESG strategy for both financial institutions and the real economy. She leads Marsh’s engagement with global insurers to drive the development of insurance products that support the transition and reward sustainability. Amy is passionate about the climate specific solutions she has created in support of sustainable rebuilds and improved mitigation and resilience.
